The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government has flagged off rehabilitation of earth roads in the locality; the grading and sand filling exercise is designed to address bad roads cutting across the ten (10) Wards of the LGA
Speaking to newsmen at the flag-off in Ogheghe road in Ward 9 a few days ago, the Council Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande revealed that fifty (50) earth roads has been earmarked for rehabilitation making five (5) roads per Ward; he however envisaged that “like it were in the first phase of rehabilitation in 2018/2019, were Council earmarked ten (10) roads per Ward, but ended up rehabilitating over one hundred and fifty (150) roads following popular demands”
“More roads will be addressed as the exercise progresses”, the Council boss noted
Ogheghe road, a hitherto impassable road now wears new look, as commuters, traders are seen carrying out their businesses unhindered
Osayande has said earth roads in Wards 2, 3, 4 and 6 will follow; he has asked the Ward Councilors to liaise with their various community heads to identify critical roads for rehabilitation
