JUST IN: Amaechi Loses More Grips As Giadom Is Barred From APC NWC Meeting

Embattled former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi appeared to have lost more grips in APC as Giadom, his mentee, the suspended APC South-South Zonal Vice-Chairman was barred from the National Working Committee meeting held on Wednesday in Abuja.

Giadom whose leadership of the South-South Zone has not been meaningful , inept and lacked vision except where he protected the interest of Rotimi Amaechi, his master, was recently suspended from office for various constitutional infractions and Dr Blessing Agbomhere, the pragmatic and resourceful Zonal Organising Secretary was made Vice-Chairman in acting capacity.

While Giadom is being investigated for the alleged offenses raised against him,  Amaechi had assured Giadom that his suspension won’t see the light of day. He has therefore deployed available means and made the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Mouka to denounce the removal. However, at the NWC meeting on Wednesday, it was clear that the NWC under Senator Adamu Abdullahi is no longer business as usual as it was reiterated that the constitutional provisions of the Party must be protected and upheld. Thus, Amaechi’s efforts to upturn Giadom’s suspension met a brick wall from the NWC members. He was told in clear terms that Giadom remains  suspended till the outcome of  investigation instituted against him.

That the issues raised against him, as the constitution of the Party stipulates, must be investigated and a report turned in before any further action.

Giadom who appeared forlorn and looked like a rain drenched chicken was asked to excuse himself from the meeting.

It may be recalled that in the heat of the crisis that led to the removal of Comrade Adams Oshiomole as the National Chairman of the Party, Giadom was vociferous and played frontal role in that regard, propelled and fueled by Rotimi Amaechi because of his nursed presidential ambition. The efforts were calculated to deny Adams Oshiomole any position of assistance to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was widely known to also be interested in the presidential race. Amaechi, afterwards contested against Bola Tinubu in the Party primaries and he was defeated without a blink of the eyelids. Still, Rotimi Amaechi nurses a well known deep seated dislike for Asiwaju and worked against him in the general election, which Asiwaju won in a landslide.

Rotimi Amaechi’s political influence in Rivers State is fast waning. Wike has left no one in doubts that he is the new sheriff in town. He has shown it in several political outings where he decimated Amaechi and make him look like an orphan. At the national level of the Party, Amaechi has no known friends and associates. His boisterous, bossy and know-it-all posture does not make him likeable.

The present crisis that is likely to consume Giadom will take off the last voice Amaechi has in the affairs of APC in the South-South region .
