Kwara APC Crisis: Students To Monitor Registration Exercise

…Caution against violence

As the nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) commenced in Kwara state Tuesday, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has resolved to monitor the exercise.

The association also urged members of the party and other stakeholders to eschew violent and allow peace to reign in the state.

Addressing reporters in Ilorin, the state capital Treasurer of NANS, who is also the convener of Forum of Students and Youth Leaders Ishola Ayinla condemned the mayhem that disrupted the last week APC stakeholders meeting in the state.

Ayinla added that the pandemonium brought shame and ridicule to the state which prides itself as a ‘state of harmony.’

He said: “we want to a public appeal to those concerned to abide by the decision of APC rather than throwing the state into unnecessary anarchy.

 

“Our forum has resolved not to fold its arms and allow anyone irrespective of status to jeopardize the developmental efforts Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq with respect to youths and education.

“The forum has resolved to monitor the entire APC registration exercise towards ensuring that it is peacefully conducted within the state. This is the only place we have as our home and it has been very peaceful under the current administration. We stating emphatically that we will not allow anyone no matter how highly placed to disrupt the peace of the state.”
